Biography
Jeremy Korst is the founder and CEO of Mindspan Labs, which turns AI vision into velocity for enterprises whose AI investment has not yet become execution. He is the founding co-author of Wharton's annual Enterprise AI Adoption Study, now in its fourth year, an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia Business School, a Lecturer at The Wharton School, and a partner at GBK Collective.
The study has become a recurring benchmark for how large companies are adopting generative AI in practice. Jeremy has written seven articles for Harvard Business Review, most recently on the gap between what executives believe about their AI progress and what their managers actually experience. He is a frequent source for the Wall Street Journal, Business Insider and Forbes, and has written for Fast Company and Entrepreneur.
Mindspan's thesis comes out of that research. Most organizations struggling with AI are missing strategic clarity and organizational readiness. They have a clarity problem, because leaders have not decided what AI is supposed to do for the business, and a readiness problem, because teams and workflows are not prepared to absorb the change. Returns depend far less on which model a company picks than on executive clarity, operating discipline, and whether people are ready to change how the work gets done.
He arrived at that argument as an operator, not an observer. Across three decades he was Chief Marketing Officer at Avalara, where he rebuilt the brand and the marketing engine and prepared the company for its IPO, General Manager of Windows Marketing at Microsoft during the worldwide launch of Windows 10, and the founder of T-Mobile's mobile broadband business. He has since served as Chief Commercial Officer at Oleria. Having been accountable for the number is why Mindspan treats AI adoption as a leadership and workflow problem rather than a software selection exercise.
He is active in the early-stage world and has served as a board member or advisor to Mint Mobile, Oleria, Shoelace Wireless, Athlete Intelligence, Rarefied Bio and Boomcloud 360. He also serves on Wharton's Executive Education Board and is a Trustee Emeritus at the University of Puget Sound.
Jeremy holds an MBA from The Wharton School, where he was a Palmer Scholar, and a BA from the University of Puget Sound. He lives in the Seattle area.
Teaching
Jeremy is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia Business School, where he teaches Generative AI for Business to graduate students, and a Lecturer at The Wharton School. He also serves on Wharton's Executive Education Board.
What he teaches comes out of the same research the firm runs on: where generative AI creates business value, what separates the organizations capturing it from the ones still running pilots, and how to manage the work once it is live.
